Pittsburgh Filmmakers (PFMI) emerged in 1971 as an equipment share, an exhibition space, a hub, and a school for budding filmmakers. A huge amount of creativity burst forth from PFMI, unleashing a whole new wave of filmmaking in Pittsburgh, and attracting established filmmakers from around the world.
